Why a card on the shelf still matters
A message on paper has a body. It can be kept, reread, and found again years later.
A text arrives, is felt for a moment, and slides down the screen. A card stays where it was put.
It stands on a desk through a hard week. It gets slipped into a book and rediscovered. It is the one object in the house with someones handwriting on it who is not there any more.
That is not nostalgia; it is just what paper does. It asks to be held, and being held is part of the message.
We write the words so that you do not have to start from nothing, but the part that matters most is still yours: the name you add, the date you remember, the small thing only the two of you know.
Ready to say it?
